Khaled Ahmed
Wilson Center’s Pakistan Scholar For the Year 2006-07
At the time Khaled Ahmed was chosen as Pakistan Scholar he was consulting editor for the Friday Times and the Daily Times, two of Pakistan’s leading English-language newspapers. Earlier in his career, Ahmed was an editor at the Frontier Post, the Nation, and the Pakistan Times. Between 1969 and 1978, he served in the Pakistani foreign service, and was posted in Moscow and Prague. His books include Pakistan: The State in Crisis (2001) and Pakistan: Behind the Ideological Mask (2000). Ahmed spent nine months in residence at the Wilson Center, beginning in September 2006, carrying out research and writing on a project titled “Sectarian Violence in Pakistan and Its Linkages to Iran, Saudi, and the Gulf States.”
